Herstory Of The War. Museum of Women’s And Gender History

On the 16th of June, a remarkable event for the Gendermuseum will take place – the online lecture “History of War. Museum of Women’s and Gender History”. The lecture was organized in connection with the exhibition “When temporary becomes the ordinary” being held in the National Museum of Human Rights (Taipei, Taiwan) from April to November. The exhibition presents 14 out of 100 women’s stories from our “War History” project about life after February 24, 2022.
“Russia’s war against Ukraine taught us, too,” shares exhibition curator Lin Chihyu.
These stories show how each woman lives the war and how deeply traumatic the experience is. That is why it is important to convey these stories to as many people as possible outside of Ukraine. We will remind that in 2023 stories from this project were also exhibited by the House of Austrian History in Vienna and the Museum of Women’s Culture in Nuremberg.
At the lecture, Maria Chorna, project manager at the Gendermuseum, will talk about how the war between Russia and Ukraine affected the museum’s activities and about its iconic projects, which step by step change people’s attitude to the role of women in history.
The link to the event will be published on the Telegram channel on the 16th of June. Come and invite colleagues!
