We did not want to remain under occupation for the second time. Our first experience was in 2014, when the war broke out in the east. We did not leave home, although many of our acquaintances, patriotic people, left the region. At that time, there were militants in our city, unknown criminal elements were standing with weapons at checkpoints, activists were caught in the streets and tortured. My husband forbade me to wear an embroidered shirt because it was dangerous. I clearly remembered those times and did not want to go through it all again.
